Sales Engineer

32-40 hours | Delft

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer with a background in engineering to support our customers. This position is well suited for individuals who excel at building customer relationships, understanding technical requirements, and delivering effective solutions. You will serve as a key point of contact for clients, translating complex technical concepts into clear, practical solutions.

What we do

VPInstruments mission is to make the world a better and more sustainable place by eliminating industrial energy waste. We do this by developing, producing, and supplying instrumentation and monitoring software for compressed air and technical gases. Our products can be found in many industrial production plants, for example glass production, food and beverage, automotive, pharmaceutical plants, all over the world. We thrive on innovation and with our R&D department we work on improving our products and designing new state-of-the-art products, which we manufacture ourselves.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the customer journey – oversee the process from initial engagement through order fulfillment and post-sales support.
  • Identify opportunities – work closely with the team to identify new sales opportunities through inbound and outbound efforts, supported by CRM tools.
  • Understand client needs – assess technical requirements and propose suitable solutions.
  • Product demonstrations – conduct product presentations and technical discussions with prospective and existing clients.
  • Proposal development – prepare quotations, proposals, and follow-up communications to successfully close deals.
  • CRM management – maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.
  • Cross-functional collaboration – coordinate with field sales, R&D, and other teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Market awareness – stay informed about new product developments and industry trends to provide informed advice to customers.

What we would expect from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are an advantage).
  • Two years of experience in technical sales or support engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols.
  • Ability to quickly learn and simplify complex technical products.
  • Problem-solving skills across software, mechanical, and electrical domains.
  • Self-motivated and organized.
  • Flexible and adaptable to work across time zones when required.
  • Pragmatic, independent, and results-oriented.
